One might find it difficult….. Very difficult… looking for this place that is. It is located at the 2nd floor of Blue Sapphire Building. We suggest calling the restaurant when your within the area so the waiter can escort you from the building’s entrance to the restaurant.

Upon entering la girolle, you will be welcomed by their homey ambience. The restaurant houses close to 12 tables seating 4 pax each making it very intimate, however the blast and exciting activities of their open kitchen reminds you that you are in a well trained and articulate restaurant.

Our deal offers a 4 course meal priced at P1,250 which is 30% less than it’s original price. We started with complimentary bread which we didn’t really enjoy. The bread seemed old and stale. The butter wasn’t soft served and it felt like it just came out of the refrigerator. Too much bashing for something that we didnt really pay for, Oh well we kinda want our breads to be hot and fresh even if their free ๐Ÿ™‚
The deal started with the amuse bouche tartlets topped with foam that tasted like cream cheese. Very common and unappetizing if you ask me.

We were then served with Tete de cochon. Sunny-side up adorned tendered meat, artistically designed with rose petals, fresh greens and beets on the side. I particularly liked the look of this dish. The play in colors and the overall feel makes it difficult for one to eat and well …. ruin. The meat was cooked for 6 to 8 hours which I think explains the almost soggy texture. I honestly thought we were eating salmon croquette.

Next on our list was the raspberry Sorbet. This tastes a bit sour but feels refreshing. A nice change from our already-oily palette. I am allergic to berries so we requested for a different flavor and they happily gave us another serving . This time it was pineapple.

Off to the main course. The main course of our deal was lamb shoulders confit served with creamy mashed potatoes and vegetables. We both failed this dish. I guess we expected more and all we got was fast food type burger-like food. No lamb taste, no lamb smell. Seriously, the only thing we liked there was the vegetables.

Moving forward, next in line was dessert Marquise of chocolate. It was ok, nothing new or special.

Feeling stiffed ( in a bad way ) and hungry after the main course we decided to skip going to the burger place a few blocks away and gave the restaurant another shot.

We decided on getting the pan fried foie gras salad. It came out good, seasoned with a nice texture , not too oily and sizable portions. We both liked this even if it’s for 690php

Do we think the deals worth it? Not really .

Will we come back ? Yes! but only for the Foie Gras and the toilet ๐Ÿ˜‰
